ABOUT ME

Ciro A. Rodriguez is a professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. In 1989 he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. In 1993 and in 1997 he obtained his master’s degree in science and doctorate respectively at the Ohio State University. He worked in the Automotive Industry as a supervisor of Computer Aided Design (CAD).

He also worked as a Plant Engineer in the Engineering Research Center for Net Shape Manufacturing (NSF funded center) and the machine tool company Cincinnati Milacron. Currently, he is Director and Professor of the Center for Innovation in Design and Technology at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Dr. Rodriguez leads a research group in Advanced Manufacturing with funding from Mexican government agencies, the European Union and several companies.

He has been invited as a speaker at conferences and seminars in Italy, Spain, Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, El Salvador, Costa Rica and USA. He has also been guest professor and researcher in Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Spain, EE .US., Italy, and Portugal. His current research interests are the manufacture of medical devices, microfabrication, additive manufacturing and machine tools.
